A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE OVER THE WATERS OF NORTHERN
LINE ISLANDS.
Situation:
The Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone [ITCZ] lies over the northern
parts of Northern Line Islands and extends westwards affecting
Western Kiribati. Meanwhile, a moist easterly wind flow prevails over
the group.
Forecast to midnight tonight for Kiribati
Over waters of Northern Line islands: Easterly winds 20 to 25 knots.
Over land areas of Northern Line islands: Moderate to fresh easterly
winds.
For the rest of Kiribati:
Moderate to fresh easterly winds.
Moderate to rough seas.
Western Kiribati: Some showers and isolated thunderstorms.
Northern Line Islands : Cloudy periods with some showers and possible
isolated thunderstorms.
