A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR WATERS OF NORTHERN LINE
ISLANDS AND PHOENIX ISLANDS.
Situation:
The Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone affects the northern parts of
Northern Line islands and extend westwards over the northern parts of
Western Kiribati. Meanwhile, a moist east to northeasterly wind flow
prevails over the group.

For Western Kiribati:
Over land: Easterly winds 20 to 25 knots.
Over waters: Easterly winds 20 to 25 knots. Rough seas.
For Northern Line islands and Phoenix islands:
Over land: Easterly winds 15 to 20 knots.
Over waters: Easterly winds 20 to 25 knots. Rough seas.
For Southern Line islands:
Moderate to fresh easterly winds, gusty at times.
Moderate to rough seas.
Western Kiribati : Occasional showers and possible isolated
thunderstorms about and north of Butaritari. Elsewhere, fine apart
from brief showers.
