The Automated Filing Index is a computerized database which contains the index of all the files which were before stored in the physical files. The function of the system is to automate the Filing Index. The Automated filing Index simply works in such a manner that an authorized person updates the indexes and then all the users through different front-end (HTML) can access the indexes. Although the current system had limitations, it was usually providing a large degree of support for the department that had to carry forward to the new system. By demonstrating the ability to understand and model the current system, has increased the confidence of users, which had helped in a way to understand the requirements of the new system.

Some of the features of the Automated Filing Index are as follows;

• - Automated Filing Index saves a lot of time and material than the physical files.
• - Allows a multi-user system (i.e.; more than one-person can access the system at the same time.

• - It's more convenient and will create less disruption to the registry department that is in charge of the filing index.
• - Available on 1pc server so everybody has access to it.

The Automated Filing Index allows the sole administrator to modify the index as needed. This modify feature includes the adding of new index, renaming the existing index and deleting the current index which are not in use. These indexes are being updated as it is approved by the divisional heads.
