Situation: A high pressure system to the far south and a low pressure to the southeast of Fiji generates a fresh to strong southerly wind flow over the country along with moderate to heavy swells over the southern Fiji waters which may result in coastal inundation over the southern parts of the group especially during high tides. Forecast to midnight tomorrow for Fiji waters: Southerly winds 20 to 25 knots. Rough seas. Poor visibility in areas of showers and thunderstorms. For Open waters of Kadavu and Southern Lau waters: Expect damaging heavy swells with heights up to 4.0m. Moderate southerly swells elsewhere. Further outlook: Southeasterly winds 20 to 25 knots.
